I truly value Bioware’s commitment to inclusive gaming experiences and variegated representation. As a girl, I have real studio loyalty because of it.
FemShep really means a lot to female players. We got to see ourselves onscreen — a woman saving the galaxy, a woman who was unapologetic about her skills, her authority, and her agency. A woman who, in the futuristic context of the games, wasn’t even expected to be apologetic.
And that is exceptional.

kind of speechless.
People often give games like Mass Effect and the Walking Dead credit for giving players difficult choices throughout their journey; choices that really cause the player to stop and think. But I think the franchise that does this best is the Elder Scrolls. You’re given an incredibly difficult dilemma practically every fifteen minutes or so. And that dilemma is always: “I’m overencumbered, what the fuck should I drop”
It is a truly riveting gameplay experience.
